The Urals State Institute of Metallurgical Works Engineering (Uralgipromez) began work in 1925. The first projects were on a regional scale, which formed the basic Metallurgical Works for the Urals Region: Magnitogorsky Metallurgical Works, Urals Engineering Plant (Uralmash), Urals Wagon Works (Uralvagonzavod), Novo-Tagilsky Metallurgical Works (nowadays Nizhnetagilsky Metallurgical Works), Krasnouralsky Brass Works and Ufaleysky Nickel Works.

During World War II, Central Gipromez of Leningrad City was evacuated to the Urals and joined hands with Uralgipromez. The melding of these two groups was profitable for both: it provided engineering for national scale projects, helped to gain unique experience, and resulted in creation of the Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Mill and such Metallurgical Works as Chelyabinsky, Novosibirsky, Kazakhsky, Usbeksky.

In 1993 during the privatization process “Uralgipromez” was transformed into JSC “Uralgipromez”. The current activity of the Company is basically oriented to metallurgical works, construction companies, refractory and construction material producing enterprises. Our aim is to become the leading company in these industries though which we can guarantee our clients reliable business development by rendering them high quality services.
